Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, the chairperson of the African Union Commission believes in empowerment of knowledge and skills development to the youth.
Although we feel ‘left-out’ when it comes to the African Union agenda, further questioning its relevance in entirety, there are hues that represent our needs that are currently being met and will be met in future.
As we speak, the Pan African University is not still running but its expansion is in the works. On the Africa Union’s last general assembly in January this year, after Robert Mugabe’s appointment as AU Chairman, newer avenues that would breathe a fresher life to the existing Pan African University.
Apart from new appointments of the Preisdent and Vice President of the Pan African University (Prof. Tolly S. MBWETTE of Tanzania and Prof. Paulo Horácio de Sequeira e CARVALHO of Angola respectively) The assembly agreed to designate Cameroon as the host country of the PAU Rectorate.
Currently, the PAU runs in 6 reigons specializing on masters degree level: Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Libya.
