With but a few days till Africa’s economic powerhouse dubs the head of state for the next presidential term, we trace back into a post made by one of Nigeria’s most powerful novelists: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
In her article named “A Nigerian Revolution”, Adichie stresses notes tha the wakening of youth’s participation in nigeria can be the transformation democracy in Nigeria may need. Citing that 70% of Nigeria’s population is under 35, but also previously didn’t prove their voice or participation in state decisions such as voting, a new rise in youth wanting to take responsibility of their country grows.
With only a few days till elections and over 1.2 million Nigerians displaced by terrorist attacks earlier in the year, one can only hope an informed decision along with free and fair elections will take place this Saturday.
