Tonight, 10 technpreneurs with businesses that they hope would disrupt the market are set to pitch their innovative ideas to a panel that could either send them to Geneva for an opportunity to win millions worth investment, or stay home to head back to their drawing board.
Through one of the world’s most powerful global start-up-meet investor platforms, Seedstars World, One Motswana is set to be selected as the best start up idea in the country, and pitch in Cassablanca Morrocco next January, just before the finals in Geneva, Switzerland.
Start up companies that will be pitching this evening include;
Modisar – a livestock farm management application that eases the process of famers managing their farm. (Modisar is also a winner of the Orange African Social Venture 2014)
Zimbo Music – an app described as ‘the watering hole’ for African music and afro music fanatics to quench their thirst
FarmConnecta – a market and search livestock app through mobile (Also usable on non-smart phones)
Hello Cabs – a taxi app specifically made for Batswana
Terracam – Providers of professional UAV services and integrations that include Aerial Surveying, Virtual Surveying, Precision Agriculture and UAV integrations
Cryptix – a service that enables patients to find their medication in clinics, hospitals or pharmacies
The event Muse – a mobile concierge service
DVLP – a social network for NGO’s that aims to ease network with corporates, and allows easier collaborative efforts
Earth Love – a food waste recycling management system, who turn food waste into organic compost and animal feed through an eco-smart anaerobic method.
The finalists will be pitching their ideas at the Microsoft Innovation Centre in Botswana Innovation Hub grounds in the country’s capital city.
