El Mahdy Jr is an Algerian producer who is based in turkey doing amazing things in the world of left field music. His very interesting amalgam of Mideastern sounds, 60s Turkish music and the traditional Rai music of Algeria, all with a modern method of producing and layering them has given rise to his inimitablestyle. From his records like the “The Spirit of fucked up places”and even the more recent “Lost Bridge” EP, it is evident that there are massive influences from grime, UK garage and perhaps rooftop jungle.His music is comparable to Kimyan Law‘s in that its really dark and gloomy with a soupcon of haunting vocals here and there.
